The 12 AI-visibility rank-trackers in CitedIndex that document Perplexity among their tracked engines on a published self-serve tier, not behind a custom Enterprise quote or a sales-call-only plan.

Perplexity is the AI answer engine most often added to a rank-tracker's prompt library as soon as a buyer asks about anything other than ChatGPT. Its citation-led answers are crawled, scraped and benchmarked by marketing teams in a way Google's AI Overviews are not, and rank-trackers that did not add Perplexity coverage did not survive 2026. The 12 tools below are the rank-trackers whose Perplexity tracking is on a published self-serve pricing tier (Starter, Lite, Growth, a flat single-plan product, or a BYOK or self-hosted tier with a documented Perplexity prompt endpoint), not gated to a custom-quoted Enterprise contract, not bundled with a sales-only demo, and not limited to a custom-region engagement. Tools whose Perplexity coverage sits only behind a custom-quoted Enterprise contract are excluded here and noted individually rather than folded in.

What this collection covers

The split that matters for a buyer is whether the tool surfaces a literal numeric rank or position figure for Perplexity, or only presence-only data (mention counts, share-of-voice percentages, sentiment with no '#N' output). That is the same split ChatGPT trackers split on, and a buyer who specifically wants a position number to compare against classic SEO data should not assume every entry below provides one. Three of the 12 confirm a rank number on their own dashboards: RankScale, Nightwatch and LLMrefs. They are listed first. The remaining 9 report presence-only data.

Volume and add-on handling also vary: LLM Pulse bundles Perplexity in its base 14-engine pool from €49/month (about $55) while add-ons gate Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek and Amazon Rufus, Peec AI puts Perplexity in a 6-engine pool where each project picks only 3 at a time, and AI Sightline places Perplexity on Business ($289.95/month) and up rather than on the $0 Free tier. The notes below name the specific tier Perplexity arrives on for each tool, sourced from each tool's own already-listed pricing page or feature copy.

What it takes to be on this list

Perplexity is the easiest of the answer engines to check and, in this index, the least widely covered. It annotates its sources inside every answer and exposes them through a public API, so a tool that wants to report Perplexity citations can read them directly rather than infer them. The obvious expectation is that almost every rank tracker would therefore support it. On this rule it is the smallest of our three engine collections: 12 tools here, against 17 that document ChatGPT and 18 that document Google AI Overviews. We are not going to explain that gap, because we do not know the reason and a guess presented as a finding is worth less than the observation.

A tool is included when it is Published in the rank-tracking category of this index and its own listing documents Perplexity by name as a tracked engine on a pricing tier a buyer can actually reach without a sales call: a self-serve plan, a flat single-plan product, or a BYOK or self-hosted tier with a documented Perplexity prompt endpoint. Coverage that exists only inside a custom-quoted Enterprise contract is excluded and named on its own rather than folded into the count, because a capability you must book a call to price is not the same product as one you can buy this afternoon.

What this rule does not separate is depth, and that matters more here than on any other engine. Because Perplexity publishes its sources, the range of what "tracks Perplexity" can mean is unusually wide: at one end a tool that records whether your brand was named in the prose, at the other a tool that records which of your URLs was cited and in what position. Those are different products at the same price and our listing data does not yet distinguish them, so this page does not claim to. Read the membership as "documents Perplexity coverage on a reachable tier", not as "measures Perplexity equally well".
