Start with a self-serve tracker that queries ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews and names the cited sources; RadarKit has the cheapest paid entry, at $29 a month [1][2][3]. Across our 8 picks, checked 1 September to 27 October 2026, entry prices run to $1,597 a month (AEO Engine) [1].

Amplitude sits apart: AI Visibility comes bundled into every Amplitude plan, including the $0 Free plan with 500 prompts a month [11]. Growth and Enterprise are sales-priced, with 2,500 and 5,000 prompts [11].
Amplitude skips Perplexity, auto-geo skips Google AI Overviews and GEORankHub queries none [13][22][24][25].
For Google’s newer surface, see which AI visibility tools cover Google AI Mode.
Rankshift, Bloomiro and auto-geo record the exact cited URL [6][8][22]. Amplitude’s Sources tab lists every domain and page cited in responses about your brand or competitors [12]. RadarKit breaks answers down by cited domain with average position [2]. GEORankHub’s citation metric counts outbound authority links on your own page and never shows what an engine cited [23].
The level matters. In an arXiv study, Google Search plus the OpenAI Responses API recovered only 28.3% and 26.2% of the URLs ChatGPT cited, against 50.3% and 48.7% of cited hostnames [28]. The same paper recommends that GEO measurement treat being retrieved and being cited as separate kinds of visibility [28]. If you plan to fix pages, ask for URL-level data.
RadarKit opens real AI chat interfaces as a customer would [2]. auto-geo calls the OpenAI Responses API with the web search tool and Perplexity’s Sonar API [22]. Perplexity’s own FAQ says: “The API uses the same search system as the UI with differences in configuration, so their outputs may differ.” [29] It adds that the underlying model may differ between API and UI for a given query [29].
In H Company’s test of 30 shopping prompts, only about 2.5% of citations overlapped between the ChatGPT interface and the API [30]. Only about 18% of top products in the interface also showed up in API responses [30]. OpenAI says its search context setting does not guarantee a specific number of sources or citations [31]. Ask every vendor which method it uses. Our methodology census shows which tools publish theirs.
Rankshift lists Claude, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot alongside the big three [5]. It records each exact cited URL with prompt, model and date, plus first-seen, last-seen and citation-stability history [6]. It names pages to act on, such as an old pricing page that engines cite often [6]. It costs from $82 a month billed annually, with a 30-day free trial [7].
Best for: marketing and SEO teams that want the broadest engine coverage plus crawler-log verification [32]. Watch out: it is a newer, less-reviewed vendor, and it has no bulk or CSV prompt import [32].
RadarKit Lite costs $29 a month for 2 projects, 15 tracked prompts and a 72-hour refresh [3]. It has a 7-day free trial [3]. Its Content Agent rewrites an existing article around the entities and fanouts AI cites [33].
Best for: small marketing teams and solo SEO practitioners on a budget [27]. Watch out: no Claude coverage, API access only on the custom-quoted Enterprise tier, and it is under a year old with no reviews found on G2 or Capterra [27][3].
Bloomiro Starter costs $49 a month, or $44 billed yearly, for 1 site and 250 credits [10]. It captures cited source URLs per check [8]. Page Scan audits a live URL and returns what to change on titles, headings, structure, schema and coverage [9]. An MCP server connects Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and VS Code to your project [34].
Best for: SaaS marketing teams that want one dashboard [35]. Watch out: the free trial is 3 days, and there is no conventional REST API and no published third-party reviews [10][35].
The $0 Free plan includes 500 AI Visibility prompts and 2M analytics events a month [11]. It scores mention rate, average rank and citations for you and competitors [12]. Analyze Page returns page-level fixes such as headings, shorter paragraphs and FAQ blocks [13].
Best for: growth or marketing teams already on Amplitude [36]. Watch out: no Perplexity on any plan, no standalone API and no third-party review validation [13][36].
AEO Engine Growth costs $1,597 a month and Scale $2,997, each with a 90-day initial term; Enterprise starts from $10,000 [16]. Every plan includes a dashboard that queries the engines with your prompts and records mentions and share of voice [15]. Its audit grades pages on crawl, schema and entity clarity and returns ranked fixes the team implements [16].
Best for: ecommerce or B2B SaaS brands that want content, schema, PR and authority built under a fixed retainer [14]. Watch out: tracking comes only with the retainer, from $1,597 a month on a 90-day term [16][15][14].
Omnius describes itself as “a B2B SEO and AI Search Optimization (GEO/AEO) agency for SaaS, Fintech, and AI companies” [20]. Its source analysis shows which pages are cited for your topics and why they were chosen over yours [19]. Its audit lists outdated and declining pages to refresh [37].
Best for: B2B SaaS and fintech leaders who want SEO and AI-search visibility handled by one specialist team [38]. Watch out: no public price and no free plan, and it does not fit brands outside SaaS, fintech and AI [20][38].
auto-geo is free and open source [21]. Each check lists the exact cited URLs with their rank and the total citation count [22]. Its doctor command audits a live URL against eight citation-readiness checks and ranks fixes [21].
Best for: developer-led teams or solo marketers [39]. Watch out: no hosted dashboard and no Google AI Overviews monitoring [39]. Its docs note that Perplexity sometimes answers without searching, and no sources are recorded for those queries [22].
GEORankHub crawls a page’s static HTML and ends with ranked advice on schema types, answer-style summaries and citation signals [23]. It never sends a prompt to an answer engine, so it cannot tell you whether you are cited [23].
Best for: developers and GEO researchers [40]. Watch out: not for non-technical marketers or anyone who needs continuous multi-engine tracking [40].
Rankshift, RadarKit, Bloomiro, Amplitude, AEO Engine, Omnius, auto-geo and GEORankHub all return fixes for existing pages [6][33][9][13][16][37][21][23]. AEO Engine, Bloomiro and GEORankHub all push schema [16][9][23]. Omnius says: “We implement FAQPage, HowTo, and Entity schema markup across your key pages” [41].
Google says no special optimizations are needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and no special schema.org structured data or AI text files [42]. Normal SEO best practices remain relevant [42]. Structured data enables a feature but does not guarantee it [43]. Since August 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health sites [44]. Our advice: treat schema-heavy recommendations as hygiene, and put crawl access and textual content first [42]. For tools that write the pages too, see which AI visibility tools generate content.
