_8 GEO tools checked on vendor pages (Sep–Oct 2026): engines queried, cited-URL capture and entry price, from $29 to $1,597 a month._

Start with a self-serve tracker that queries ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews and names the cited sources; [RadarKit](/radarkit) has the cheapest paid entry, at $29 a month [1][2][3]. Across our 8 picks, checked 1 September to 27 October 2026, entry prices run to $1,597 a month ([AEO Engine](/aeoengine)) [1].

We checked engine coverage, cited-source capture and entry price for 8 picks on vendor pages between 1 September and 27 October 2026; entry prices run from $29 (RadarKit) to $1,597 (AEO Engine) [4][1]. On 28 October 2026 our catalogue listed 153 tools: 91 under GEO & content optimization and 37 with a free plan [1].

## Four kinds of purchase

Decide what kind of product you want before you compare engines.

- **Self-serve tracker.** Rankshift, RadarKit and Bloomiro run your prompts against answer engines and record mentions and citations [5][2][8].
- **Agency retainer.** AEO Engine starts at $1,597 a month on a 90-day initial term; Omnius quotes on request [16][20]. Omnius runs its tracking as part of the retainer, not as software you log into [18]. More on this split: [GEO agency or software? How to choose in 2026](https://citedindex.com/blog/geo-agency-or-software-2026/) and [Done-for-you GEO: which tools do the work](https://citedindex.com/blog/done-for-you-geo-which-tools-do-the-work/).
- **One-shot diagnostic.** GEORankHub crawls the static HTML of a URL you submit and scores schema, structure and code quality [23]. It is free and sends no prompt to any answer engine [26][23].
- **Open-source CLI.** auto-geo is free and open source, with no paid plan [21]. Its check command asks grounded-search engines your tracked prompts and records whether your domain is cited [21].

Amplitude sits apart: AI Visibility comes bundled into every Amplitude plan, including the $0 Free plan with 500 prompts a month [11]. Growth and Enterprise are sales-priced, with 2,500 and 5,000 prompts [11].

## Which engines each tool actually queries

Amplitude skips Perplexity, auto-geo skips Google AI Overviews and GEORankHub queries none [13][22][24][25].

- **Rankshift** lists, in its own words: "ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, Mistral, and Meta AI." [5]
- **AEO Engine**: "We track ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews." [15]
- **RadarKit** tracks ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews on every plan, the $29 Lite tier included [2][3]. It does not cover Claude [27].
- **Bloomiro** covers ChatGPT, Perplexity and AI Overviews on all plans [8].
- **Omnius** names ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews in its technology inventory [18].
- **Amplitude** supports ChatGPT and Google AI Overview, and the model set cannot be changed [13]. Amplitude's docs say: "Filter report results to include ChatGPT, Google AI Overview, or both." [12]
- **auto-geo** queries Perplexity by default and ChatGPT through an OpenAI adapter; Google AI Overviews is not among its adapters [22].
- **GEORankHub** queries none of them [24][25].

## Does it name the exact URL an AI answer cited?

Rankshift, Bloomiro and auto-geo record the exact cited URL [6][8][22]. Amplitude's Sources tab lists every domain and page cited in responses about your brand or competitors [12]. RadarKit breaks answers down by cited domain with average position [2]. GEORankHub's citation metric counts outbound authority links on your own page and never shows what an engine cited [23].

The level matters. In an arXiv study, Google Search plus the OpenAI Responses API recovered only 28.3% and 26.2% of the URLs ChatGPT cited, against 50.3% and 48.7% of cited hostnames [28]. The same paper recommends that GEO measurement treat being retrieved and being cited as separate kinds of visibility [28]. If you plan to fix pages, ask for URL-level data.

## Real chat interface or model API: why the method changes results

RadarKit opens real AI chat interfaces as a customer would [2]. auto-geo calls the OpenAI Responses API with the web search tool and Perplexity's Sonar API [22]. Perplexity's own FAQ says: "The API uses the same search system as the UI with differences in configuration, so their outputs may differ." [29] It adds that the underlying model may differ between API and UI for a given query [29].

In H Company's test of 30 shopping prompts, only about 2.5% of citations overlapped between the ChatGPT interface and the API [30]. Only about 18% of top products in the interface also showed up in API responses [30]. OpenAI says its search context setting does not guarantee a specific number of sources or citations [31]. Ask every vendor which method it uses. Our [methodology census](https://citedindex.com/blog/methodology-transparency-ai-visibility-tools-2026/) shows which tools publish theirs.

## Rankshift: best for the broadest available engine coverage in a self-serve tracker

Rankshift lists Claude, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot alongside the big three [5]. It records each exact cited URL with prompt, model and date, plus first-seen, last-seen and citation-stability history [6]. It names pages to act on, such as an old pricing page that engines cite often [6]. It costs from $82 a month billed annually, with a 30-day free trial [7].

**Best for:** marketing and SEO teams that want the broadest engine coverage plus crawler-log verification [32].
**Watch out:** it is a newer, less-reviewed vendor, and it has no bulk or CSV prompt import [32].

## RadarKit: best for small teams on the lowest paid budget

RadarKit Lite costs $29 a month for 2 projects, 15 tracked prompts and a 72-hour refresh [3]. It has a 7-day free trial [3]. Its Content Agent rewrites an existing article around the entities and fanouts AI cites [33].

**Best for:** small marketing teams and solo SEO practitioners on a budget [27].
**Watch out:** no Claude coverage, API access only on the custom-quoted Enterprise tier, and it is under a year old with no reviews found on G2 or Capterra [27][3].

## Bloomiro: best for SaaS teams that want tracking and page fixes in one dashboard

Bloomiro Starter costs $49 a month, or $44 billed yearly, for 1 site and 250 credits [10]. It captures cited source URLs per check [8]. Page Scan audits a live URL and returns what to change on titles, headings, structure, schema and coverage [9]. An MCP server connects Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, Codex and VS Code to your project [34].

**Best for:** SaaS marketing teams that want one dashboard [35].
**Watch out:** the free trial is 3 days, and there is no conventional REST API and no published third-party reviews [10][35].

## Amplitude AI Visibility: best free first read for teams already on Amplitude

The $0 Free plan includes 500 AI Visibility prompts and 2M analytics events a month [11]. It scores mention rate, average rank and citations for you and competitors [12]. Analyze Page returns page-level fixes such as headings, shorter paragraphs and FAQ blocks [13].

**Best for:** growth or marketing teams already on Amplitude [36].
**Watch out:** no Perplexity on any plan, no standalone API and no third-party review validation [13][36].

## AEO Engine: best for brands that want an agency on a fixed retainer

AEO Engine Growth costs $1,597 a month and Scale $2,997, each with a 90-day initial term; Enterprise starts from $10,000 [16]. Every plan includes a dashboard that queries the engines with your prompts and records mentions and share of voice [15]. Its audit grades pages on crawl, schema and entity clarity and returns ranked fixes the team implements [16].

**Best for:** ecommerce or B2B SaaS brands that want content, schema, PR and authority built under a fixed retainer [14].
**Watch out:** tracking comes only with the retainer, from $1,597 a month on a 90-day term [16][15][14].

## Omnius: best for B2B SaaS and fintech brands that want SEO and AI search in one team

Omnius describes itself as "a B2B SEO and AI Search Optimization (GEO/AEO) agency for SaaS, Fintech, and AI companies" [20]. Its source analysis shows which pages are cited for your topics and why they were chosen over yours [19]. Its audit lists outdated and declining pages to refresh [37].

**Best for:** B2B SaaS and fintech leaders who want SEO and AI-search visibility handled by one specialist team [38].
**Watch out:** no public price and no free plan, and it does not fit brands outside SaaS, fintech and AI [20][38].

## auto-geo: best free option for developer-led teams

auto-geo is free and open source [21]. Each check lists the exact cited URLs with their rank and the total citation count [22]. Its doctor command audits a live URL against eight citation-readiness checks and ranks fixes [21].

**Best for:** developer-led teams or solo marketers [39].
**Watch out:** no hosted dashboard and no Google AI Overviews monitoring [39]. Its docs note that Perplexity sometimes answers without searching, and no sources are recorded for those queries [22].

## GEORankHub: a free page diagnostic, not an AI-answer tracker

GEORankHub crawls a page's static HTML and ends with ranked advice on schema types, answer-style summaries and citation signals [23]. It never sends a prompt to an answer engine, so it cannot tell you whether you are cited [23].

**Best for:** developers and GEO researchers [40].
**Watch out:** not for non-technical marketers or anyone who needs continuous multi-engine tracking [40].

## Page fixes: what the tools recommend and what Google says

Rankshift, RadarKit, Bloomiro, Amplitude, AEO Engine, Omnius, auto-geo and GEORankHub all return fixes for existing pages [6][33][9][13][16][37][21][23]. AEO Engine, Bloomiro and GEORankHub all push schema [16][9][23]. Omnius says: "We implement FAQPage, HowTo, and Entity schema markup across your key pages" [41].

Google says no special optimizations are needed to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and no special schema.org structured data or AI text files [42]. Normal SEO best practices remain relevant [42]. Structured data enables a feature but does not guarantee it [43]. Since August 2023, Google shows FAQ rich results only for well-known government and health sites [44]. Our advice: treat schema-heavy recommendations as hygiene, and put crawl access and textual content first [42]. ## Which one fits your situation

- **Under $50 a month, small team:** RadarKit at $29 or Bloomiro at $49 [3][10].
- **Broadest available engine coverage:** Rankshift [32].
- **Already on Amplitude:** start with its free AI Visibility [36][11].
- **You want an agency to do the work:** AEO Engine with a public price, or Omnius for B2B SaaS and fintech, priced on request [16][38][20].
- **Developer on the team, no budget:** auto-geo [39][21].
- **A free one-off page check:** GEORankHub, knowing it tracks nothing [40][23].

## FAQ

**Which GEO tools query ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews?**
Rankshift, RadarKit, Bloomiro, AEO Engine and Omnius name all three on their own pages [5][6][2][3][8][15][16][18]. Amplitude leaves out Perplexity and auto-geo leaves out AI Overviews [13][22].

**What does a GEO tool cost?**
RadarKit has the cheapest paid entry at $29 a month and AEO Engine the dearest at $1,597 a month [1]. Bloomiro starts at $49 a month and Rankshift at $82 a month billed annually [10][7].

**Is there a free GEO tool or a long trial?**
3 of the 8 have a free plan: Amplitude AI Visibility, GEORankHub and auto-geo [1]. Trials run 30 days at Rankshift, 7 at RadarKit and 3 at Bloomiro [7][3][10]. Our catalogue counted 37 tools with a free plan on 28 October 2026 [1].

**Should I buy a self-serve tracker or hire an AEO agency?**
A tracker if you want self-serve monitoring; an agency if you want content, schema and authority built for you [14]. Trackers start at $29 a month (RadarKit) to $82 billed annually (Rankshift), with free trials, against $1,597 a month on a 90-day term at AEO Engine [3][7][16].

**Can a non-technical marketing team use these tools?**
auto-geo and GEORankHub are not meant for non-technical marketers [39][40]. Bloomiro and RadarKit suit marketing teams [35][27].

**Do results differ between the ChatGPT interface and the API?**
They can, so ask each vendor which method it uses: RadarKit queries real chat interfaces, auto-geo the OpenAI API [30][2][22].

**Are these vendors established, with independent reviews?**
RadarKit has no reviews found on G2 or Capterra, Bloomiro has no published third-party reviews, and Rankshift is a newer, less-reviewed vendor [27][35][32].
