How we check

The picks

1. auto-geo

Best for developer-led teams checking their own citations: auto-geo grades a page’s citation readiness and checks whether Perplexity, ChatGPT or Grok actually cite the domain.

Price Free

auto-geo is an open-source command-line tool with commands to audit, write, fix and track pages. Its doctor command grades any page’s citation readiness, checking for a short summary at the top, question-style headings, article and question-and-answer structured data and an answer-first opening. Its write and fix commands generate or rewrite pages for roughly $0.06 per page.

The check command queries the provider APIs of Perplexity, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and xAI directly and reports whether your domain is cited for each tracked prompt. Perplexity is the default engine, and every run is saved, so the history command shows which prompts were newly cited or lost. Tracked prompts are lines in a committed text file, so there is no plan allowance and the ceiling is what each provider API call costs.

The tool has a free plan, but writing, fixing and checking run on your own OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, Gemini or xAI keys. Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Microsoft Copilot are outside its engine list, so teams that need those answers pair it with a hosted tracker.

What it does well

  • Grades any page’s citation readiness.
  • Generates or rewrites pages for roughly $0.06 per page.
  • Measures real citations by querying Perplexity, ChatGPT and Grok through their APIs.
  • Keeps a local history of every check, naming the prompts newly cited or lost.

Where it falls short

  • Runs only as a command-line tool with text output and no dashboard.
  • Checks call provider APIs rather than the consumer apps, and Google AI Overviews is left out.
  • A young, single-maintainer project created in June 2026.
  • Free plan: yes
  • Who it’s for: Developer-led teams or solo marketers who keep their pages in a code repository and want audits, rewrites and citation checks they can run from the terminal and commit.
  • Skip it if: Non-technical marketing teams that want a hosted dashboard or Google AI Overviews monitoring should pick Bloomiro, which tracks Google AI Overview and Google AI Mode in a web workspace.

2. RadarKit

Best for small teams on a tight budget: RadarKit has the cheapest paid entry plan, at $29 a month, and that plan still tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and both Google AI surfaces.

Price From $29 a month

RadarKit visits ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Google AI Overview and Google AI Mode through real browsers rather than polling an API, across 50+ countries. Beside tracking it bundles Content, Outreach, Reddit and Chat Agents and local tracking across 50+ named locations.

Lite costs $29 a month and gives 2 projects, 15 tracked prompts, a 72-hour refresh and 6 Content Agent articles per month. Google Search Console, Google Analytics and WordPress integrations come on every paid tier, and there is a 7-day free trial.

Software agents trained on your own data do the work, with no RadarKit staff delivering it. Teams that outgrow 15 prompts or need a daily refresh move up to Growth or Pro.

What it does well

  • Cheapest paid entry plan, at $29 a month.
  • Tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and both Google AI surfaces through real browsers.
  • Bundles content, outreach and Reddit agents, with 6 articles a month on Lite.
  • Search Console, Google Analytics and WordPress integrations on every paid tier.

Where it falls short

  • Does not track Claude.
  • Lite refreshes every 72 hours, and daily refresh starts on Growth.
  • Under a year old, with no independent reviews yet.
  • Free trial: 7 days
  • Who it’s for: Small marketing teams and solo search specialists who want a low-cost tracker that also writes articles and runs outreach.
  • Skip it if: Teams that need Claude tracked should pick Rank Prompt, which queries Claude on every plan.

3. Dageno

Best for teams tracking visibility across many regions: Dageno says it tracks AI-answer visibility across 252 regions, with heatmaps of where a brand appears by platform and region.

Price From $49 a month

Dageno’s standard platforms include ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot and Google AI Mode, and it says it covers 252 regions. It shows which sources AI engines cite and benchmarks visibility against named competitors.

Credit-metered agents, including an Opportunity Analyst, a Content Writer, a Pitch Builder and a backlinks agent, come on every tier from Starter up. The pricing page links straight to a 7-day Starter trial with no sales call.

Dageno also sells a managed service where its team handles diagnosis, planning, monitoring and delivery. Self-serve tiers cap how many AI platforms an account tracks at a time, and the full set is kept for Enterprise.

What it does well

  • Tracks visibility across 252 regions, by Dageno’s count.
  • Shows which sources AI engines cite and how named competitors compare.
  • Adds a managed service run by its own team.
  • Self-serve signup with a 7-day trial.

Where it falls short

  • Does not track Claude.
  • Self-serve plans cap how many AI platforms an account tracks at once.
  • The pricing page lists API and MCP access on none of its plans.
  • Free trial: 7 days
  • Who it’s for: Software, retail and agency teams researching brand visibility in AI answers across many markets.
  • Skip it if: Buyers who need Claude coverage should pick Rankshift, which tracks Claude on every plan.

4. Rank Prompt

Best for developers needing API access on any plan: Rank Prompt opens its API and a hosted MCP server on every plan, the free plan included.

Price Free, then $49 a month

Rank Prompt scans tracked prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Claude, Gemini and Grok for mention rate and share of voice, and shows which sources each engine cites. Articles, audits, AI images and hosted sites draw on the same monthly credit pool as prompt scans.

Starter costs $49 a month with 150 credits and 10 brands, rising to $299 a month for Agency Plus with 2,000 credits and 1,000 brands, and annual billing is 20% cheaper. The free plan already reaches the documented API, and paid tiers start with a 7-day free trial.

Its Full Execution service has the agency publish content and run outreach for you. A reviewer notes that 10 prompts a day across every engine burns roughly 600 credits a month, so daily tracking pushes a team past Starter.

What it does well

  • API and a hosted MCP server on every plan, the free plan included.
  • Tracks Claude and Grok beside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
  • Agency Plus tracks up to 1,000 brands for $299 a month.
  • A done-for-you service publishes content and runs outreach.

Where it falls short

  • Starter’s 150 credits run out fast: 10 prompts a day across every engine burns roughly 600 a month.
  • Launched publicly in June 2025, so its track record is short.
  • Does not track Microsoft Copilot.
  • Free plan: yes; 7-day free trial
  • Who it’s for: A solo marketer or developer who wants ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Claude, Gemini and Grok in one dashboard and pulls the data into their own tools.
  • Skip it if: Teams that need Microsoft Copilot tracked should pick Bloomiro, which covers it on every plan.

5. Bloomiro

Best for marketers combining Search Console and AI visibility: Bloomiro imports Google Search Console clicks, impressions and queries into the same workspace as its AI-answer tracking, then ranks the next task from both.

Price From $49 a month

Bloomiro checks saved prompts against ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, Google AI Overview and Google AI Mode and reports mentions and citations per engine. Site Scan and Page Scan check titles, metadata, headings, schema and answer-style coverage on page types from pricing pages to documentation. The action layer turns Search Console signals, scan findings, competitor gaps and AI presence results into ranked tasks with a stated reason.

Starter costs $49 a month, or $44 a month billed yearly, for 1 site and 250 credits, and Growth costs $249 a month for 5 sites and 2,500 credits. The 3-day free trial needs no credit card.

A hosted MCP server exposes 29 documented tools to Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT and other clients on every paid plan. Bloomiro sells software and says strategy, content production and outreach still need people.

What it does well

  • Puts Search Console data and AI-answer findings in one workspace.
  • Ranks tasks from search, scan, competitor and AI presence signals.
  • An MCP server with 29 documented tools on every paid plan.
  • Tracks Copilot and both Google AI surfaces beside ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.

Where it falls short

  • Programmatic access runs only through MCP, with no conventional API for a data-warehouse pipeline.
  • Does not track Claude or Grok.
  • Monthly credits do not roll over.
  • Free trial: 3 days
  • Who it’s for: Software marketing teams that want one dashboard for search performance, page scans and AI-answer visibility.
  • Skip it if: Teams that need a conventional API for a data-warehouse pipeline should pick Rank Prompt, which documents an API on every plan.

6. Rankshift

Best for verifying AI crawler visits in your logs: Rankshift logs real AI-crawler visits to your site, with bot name, page path and status, on every self-serve tier.

Price From about $86 a month

Rankshift tracks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Mistral and Meta AI. Its Agent Analytics logs AI-bot traffic to your pages on every self-serve tier, and a brief generator turns a visibility gap into a content outline and then a draft.

Billed annually, pricing starts from $82 a month, with a 30-day free trial. Every plan carries unlimited projects and seats, so credits are the constraint, and Claude and Copilot runs draw more credits than most engines.

Looker Studio and an MCP server come on every self-serve tier. Annual billing is 10% cheaper than monthly.

What it does well

  • Logs real AI-crawler visits to your pages on every self-serve tier.
  • Tracks Claude, Copilot and Meta AI beside ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and both Google AI surfaces.
  • Unlimited projects and seats on every plan.
  • A 30-day free trial.

Where it falls short

  • Prompts are added one at a time, with no bulk import.
  • Reviewers call the content writer newer and rougher than the tracking core.
  • A new entrant with no user reviews yet on Slashdot or SourceForge.
  • Free trial: 30 days
  • Who it’s for: Marketing and search teams that want wide engine coverage plus crawler-log checks and are comfortable with a newer vendor.
  • Skip it if: Teams that need bulk prompt import should pick auto-geo, where tracked prompts are lines in a committed text file.

7. GEO Tool

Best for marketers wanting a free web-based audit: GEO Tool returns a 0-100 GEO Score for any page in about 47 seconds, free and with no signup.

Price Free, then $229 a month

The free audit covers technical setup, content, structured data, llms.txt presence, entity linking and question-and-answer markup. GEO Tool says its measurement product covers ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google AI Overviews, while Google AI Mode is checked against Google’s published guidance with no live measurement.

Paid plans start from $229 a month, and a one-time paid GEO Audit costs from €299 (about $334). The free check is self-serve, while the paid Autopilot route asks buyers to book a call.

Its database sits in Frankfurt and its content engine in Germany. The vendor also sells human audit, monitoring and implementation services.

What it does well

  • A free page score from 0 to 100 in about 47 seconds.
  • Checks llms.txt, structured data and entity linking in one pass.
  • Hosts its database in Frankfurt.
  • Human audit, monitoring and implementation services.

Where it falls short

  • The free scan checks readiness signals rather than live engine answers.
  • The paid Autopilot route starts with a booked call.
  • Does not cover Grok or DeepSeek.
  • Free plan: yes
  • Who it’s for: Marketing managers, agencies, freelancers and startup founders who want a quick technical readiness check before paying for monitoring.
  • Skip it if: Teams that need ongoing live citation monitoring per engine in a dashboard should pick Bloomiro, which checks saved prompts against each engine.

8. Amplitude AI Visibility

Best for Amplitude users tying visibility to revenue: Amplitude AI Visibility joins AI-referred visits to Amplitude’s own analytics, session replay and revenue data.

Price Free, then $94 a month

AI Visibility measures how often a brand appears in ChatGPT and Google AI Overview answers against named competitors, flags whether answers describe it positively, neutrally or negatively, and suggests fixes. Amplitude states that the model set cannot be changed.

It is metered on usage, and the $0 Free plan includes 500 AI Visibility prompts and 2M analytics events a month. Growth and Enterprise raise that to 2,500 and 5,000 prompts.

The My Website Pages view reports AI chat traffic per page beside citations, and visitors from AI tools can become cohorts. Amplitude holds an independent security audit report (SOC 2 Type 2), and its MCP integration triggers follow-up actions in other tools.

What it does well

  • Ties AI-referred visits to conversions and revenue.
  • A free plan with 500 AI Visibility prompts.
  • Flags positive, neutral or negative descriptions of the brand.
  • Turns visitors from AI tools into cohorts.

Where it falls short

  • Tracks only ChatGPT and Google AI Overview.
  • Has no AI Visibility specific API; data leaves through file export and Amplitude’s platform APIs.
  • The revenue link depends on being an Amplitude analytics customer.
  • Free plan: yes
  • Who it’s for: Growth or marketing teams already running on Amplitude who want a free first read on AI-answer visibility tied directly to revenue.
  • Skip it if: Teams that need Perplexity or Gemini tracked should pick RadarKit, which covers both.
