AI-Visibility Tools With API Access at Entry-Level Pricing
The 16 AI-visibility and GEO tools in our index that put API or MCP access on their cheapest self-serve tier — not walled off behind a custom Enterprise quote, the way it is on Otterly AI, Scrunch AI, Surfer SEO, RankScale and several others in the same set.
We checked how every one of the 57 Published tools in our index prices API and MCP access and found a split most vendors don't advertise: a raw "has an API" claim (32 of 57 listings) says little about whether a buyer can actually reach it without an Enterprise sales call. Only 16 clear a stricter, buyer-relevant bar — API or MCP access is available on the tool's cheapest self-serve tier (or its one real tier, for the pay-as-you-go, free-tier and self-hosted products in this set), not reserved for a custom-quoted plan.
Some of the clearest examples: Sleepwalker, Bloomiro and Canonry never gate it at all — API/MCP access is the native interface from the first signup or the only tier that exists. Rank Prompt's API request quota actually scales WITH the tier (10k/month on its $49 Starter plan up to 100k/month on Agency Plus), rather than appearing only once you upgrade. Morningscore's own pricing page states plainly that a full REST API ships on every plan, "even the cheapest" — unusual for a tool in its price range. geoSurge goes furthest of all: its entire $0/month BYOK tier — not merely the cheapest paid plan, since it has no paid plan below Enterprise — already ships a full REST API, CSV/JSON export and MCP access; only its separate "Corpus Engineering" toolkit, not API access itself, sits behind the custom Enterprise quote.
The excluded majority is the more common story. Otterly AI, Scrunch AI, Surfer SEO, RankScale, Nightwatch, Knowatoa, AIclicks, GeoRankers, Local Dominator AI Tracker, Goodie AI and Local Falcon all publish a real API or MCP feature somewhere in their lineup — but every one of them reserves it for a pricier self-serve tier, a custom Enterprise quote, or (Local Falcon) a tier one step above the very cheapest. Two more near-misses didn't make the cut for a different reason: Writesonic and Promptwatch both document a working API, but neither ties it to a specific published pricing tier, so we couldn't confirm where the gate sits; BabyLoveGrowth's "API" is a content-publishing integration (pushing generated articles to WordPress/Webflow), not a way to pull AI-visibility data, so it answers a different buyer question than this list.
Why this collection
A tool earns a place here only if its own CitedIndex listing's sourced pricing or feature copy confirms API and/or MCP access to its AI-visibility data is available on a tier that does not require a custom Enterprise quote or a sales call — for most tools, that means the cheapest published self-serve paid tier; for the pay-as-you-go, free-Beta and self-hosted open-source products in this set, their one real tier. An API mentioned only in general marketing copy with no tier attached, or an API that serves a different purpose (e.g. publishing content rather than reading visibility data), is not counted.
- Sleepwalker
MCP, API and CLI-native AI visibility and content intelligence for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Grok and Gemini, pay-as-you-go from €0.02/credit.
MCP, a REST API and a CLI are the native interface from first signup on pay-as-you-go credits (€0.02/credit, €5 minimum) — not a paid add-on gated behind a tier, unlike most competitors in this set.
- Bloomiro
One dashboard for Google Search Console performance and six-engine AI-answer tracking, built for SaaS teams.
MCP access ships on all three published tiers, including the cheapest ($26/month Starter, billed yearly) — nothing is held back for a pricier plan.
- Canonry
Free, self-hosted, agent-first AEO platform: tracks AI-engine citations and executes the fixes.
The free, self-hosted open-source tier (FSL-1.1-ALv2 licensed) ships the full CLI, dashboard and API together — there's no paid tier gating it, since the self-hosted product is the whole offering.
- Rankshift
9-engine AI visibility tracking, paired with real AI-crawler log evidence.
MCP & API access is already on the entry $82/month Starter tier, not held back for Enterprise — though the free 30-day trial's own feature list doesn't explicitly repeat it.
- LLMrefs
One flat $79/month plan tracking brand visibility across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and more — no tiers to pick between.
The single $79/month All in One plan — the only paid tier LLMrefs sells — includes API access plus CSV export; its 7-day trial is described as 'full plan features.'
- Rank Prompt
Miami-founded AI-visibility tracker covering 6 AI engines from $49/month, with a hosted MCP server for querying visibility data straight from Claude Code or Cursor.
API access scales with every tier instead of appearing only on upgrade: 10k requests/month on the $49 Starter plan, up to 100k/month on Agency Plus ($299).
- Qwairy
A 10-engine, EU-hosted GEO platform bundling AI-citation monitoring, crawler analytics and an MCP server from €65/month.
MCP server access is already on the €65/month Starter tier; the fuller REST API is one tier up, on Growth (€165/month).
- Trakkr
Track how your brand shows up inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and other AI answers
MCP access is on Trakkr's cheapest paid tier (Growth, $100/month); its own listing names 'REST API access' explicitly at the next tier, Scale ($500/month).
- Morningscore
Gamified SEO tracking that now also scores your ChatGPT and AI Overviews visibility
Morningscore's own pricing page and FAQ state a full REST API ships on every paid plan, "even the cheapest" Lite tier ($69/month) — unusual for an SEO tool at that price.
- LLM Pulse
AI search visibility and reputation tracking across the widest named-engine list in this directory, from €49/month.
Every account gets a documented REST API and CLI sharing one API key; the one gap in LLM Pulse's own published pricing is that it doesn't state whether rate limits differ by tier.
- Mangools AI Search Watcher
AI-visibility monitoring across 7 engines from Mangools, the 12-year-old, bootstrapped-and-profitable SEO company behind KWFinder.
AI Search Watcher data is reachable through Mangools' single unified REST API alongside the rest of its keyword/SERP suite, not walled off as a separate paid add-on.
- RankLens
SEO Vendor's multi-sampling AI-visibility tracker for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Llama, free, with a DOI-registered methodology paper.
RankLens is free while still in Beta (no paid tier published yet), and its own listing states programmatic API access is already part of that free tier.
- GEOrank
A free, open-source GEO diagnostic-and-content-tooling workbench with a Claude Agent Skill for running a self-hosted instance from an AI agent.
The free, self-hosted open-source tier ships a documented HTTP API plus a Claude Agent Skill, so an AI agent can run diagnostics and admin tasks directly, not just a human dashboard.
- AthenaHQ
YC-backed AEO platform tracking brand mentions across nine AI answer engines, credit-metered.
API access is on AthenaHQ's cheapest paid self-serve tier (Starter, $295/month) — though it draws from the same credit pool as everything else, so heavy API use costs more credits rather than a separate fee. The $0 Essential tier itself has no API.
- Frase
AI content platform that tracks brand citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI while optimizing SEO content.
The entry Starter tier ($39/month) already includes 250 API requests/month, scaling to 3,000/month on Scale ($239/month) — Frase's own tier copy doesn't restate a quota for the middle Professional plan, but nothing suggests it's excluded.
- geoSurge
A London seed-stage AI-visibility platform with a free, BYOK ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini tracker and an Enterprise-only "Corpus Engineering" toolkit — $12M raised July 2026.
Goes further than a cheap tier — the entire $0/month BYOK plan ships a full REST API, CSV/JSON export and MCP access; only the separate "Corpus Engineering" toolkit, not API access itself, requires the custom-quoted Enterprise tier.
