Claude is the line of large language models Anthropic trains and serves — the current lineup spans Fable, Opus, Sonnet and Haiku tiers, traded off against each other for speed, cost and context length — reached through claude.ai, the Claude API, or embedded via Bedrock, Vertex AI and Microsoft Foundry ([Anthropic model docs](https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/models/overview)). Anthropic positions Claude as an assistant for coding, agentic work and long-document reasoning rather than a search product ([Claude product page](https://claude.com/product/overview)). On this directory, Claude matters as one of the AI surfaces that GEO and AI-visibility tools query to check whether a brand gets mentioned or cited in a generated answer — the same role ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity play for their own vendors. A listing carries the Claude tag when the tool tracks brand visibility inside Claude's answers, or is itself built on a Claude model, not merely because a vendor's marketing copy name-drops it. Claude is not a search engine: unlike Perplexity, it does not crawl the live web by default, though tool-use lets a product wire in live fetches.
