Frase vs Rankscale (2026)

Frase and RankScale both track how often and how favorably a brand is cited in ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI and other answer engines, but they start from opposite premises. Frase is a content operating system, a SERP-based brief generator and AI writer, that added AI Visibility Tracking as one more module inside an existing content workflow. RankScale is built the other way around: a purpose-built GEO analytics platform with no content-generation feature at all, whose entire product is measuring and diagnosing AI visibility.

The gap shows up clearest in what each dollar buys. RankScale's $20/mo Essentials plan already covers all 17+ tracked engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, DeepSeek, Grok and Mistral among them), with broader usage unlocked by credit volume, not by engine access. Frase gates engines by tier instead: its $39/mo Starter plan tracks just ChatGPT and Google AI on 50 monitored prompts; Perplexity is reserved for the $103/mo Professional tier; and Claude and Gemini require climbing to the $239/mo Scale tier. A Frase buyer who wants ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity, Claude and Gemini has to spend roughly 12x more than RankScale's $20/mo entry.

Past tracking, the two diverge completely. Frase's other half is a working content pipeline: a brief generator that pulls top-ranking pages into a structured outline in under a minute, an AI writer that drafts to a topic-coverage score and publishes straight to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix or its own FraseCMS, and Content Guard, which rescans published pages for ranking or traffic decay and can auto-draft fixes, or even auto-publish them. RankScale has no equivalent, with no drafting and no CMS publishing, but goes deeper on the measurement side: auto-identified competitor benchmarking in the same AI responses, a citation-analysis module showing which sources get quoted, 200+ technical/content AI-readiness checks, and a read-only MCP server that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex query live visibility data by natural language.

Neither tool proves AI visibility drives revenue: neither integrates with GA4 or offers conversion tracking, so both stop at diagnosis rather than attribution. Each also carries its own real weakness beyond that. Frase's AI-generated drafts are described by reviewers as a solid first pass that typically needs 30-60 minutes of editing before publishing.
