# How CitedIndex lists and orders tools

> Source: Cited·Index — https://citedindex.com/methodology/
> Index last updated: Oct 16, 2026

What we check on every tool, the order lists follow, and what to do when we get something wrong.

## What we check

For every tool we record which AI engines it watches, what it measures, what it costs and where it falls short. Each fact links to the vendor page it came from, and each listing shows the day we last checked it. The latest check in the index was on Oct 16, 2026.

There are no stars and no scores.

## The order of a list

**Featured** listings come first, in their own labelled block. The free list below runs newest first, then A to Z. On search, your filters and sort decide the order.

## Paid listings and articles

Paid listings are labelled **Featured** and paid articles are marked **Sponsored**. [See pricing](https://citedindex.com/pricing).

## When we get it wrong

[Email the correction](mailto:support@citedindex.com?subject=Correction) and we check it against the source and fix it. Any tool can be [submitted for review](https://citedindex.com/submit).
